Th • overture was played by Messrs Hutclien^. piano, Blythe, cornet, and Longßiaff, violin. The fitst song whs given l>y Wev Mr Chapman, who sang ' Anchored' carefully aud well. Avi cal trio Mesara Hut chens, B'ythe and Louga'aff, went well 1 Fiddle and I.' by Mist* Cooper was received with henrty applause, it boing cupitally rendered. Her number m the second part, ' Tho Garden Gatp,' though often heard was redemanded, but owing to the length of the programme, Mi^ Cooper did not respond • The Larboard I Watch, 1 duet by Mi ars Watson and Stj ' phtns wao done full jueiioe to their v.>icea olentling nicely. ' Swee f . Vi >letH' wa^well suug by Miss Mclntnau, us was her number, ' Moggie's Secret.' Tnis lady appeared m Biookßide for the firßt liiuu and made a d«oidedly favourable impression. Mr Bly t»>*B Cornet solo wan cleverly and succes-fnlly executed, the upirited ipusic causiog quite a ' March

His second number was also well received. The comic songs were supplied by Mr Blythe who proved himself a muster of this art. his songs • Patrick mnd the the baby' and the • Tho Bubiea on the Block,' fairly bringing down the house ; he received encores for both, to which ho responded with others equally as comic. A Recitation by Rev Mr Chapman was well given and was listened to attentively. 'The House behind the Hill 1 by: Miss. Watson wafl nicely sunprand was deservedly loudly applauded. Mr T. G. Stevens sang 'Two lovely blnckeyeS* m charactPiy his appearnnce on the platform was the n?gnnl;for shouts of laughter. The lust but l>yno moan? lonst wns the reciting of ♦ A Modp.rn Sermon ' by Mr T. A. Stcphenr. Misses Spring nnd Grainger plnyed the ficcdtnpahimenlß to iluv satisfaction of all. On the motion of Mr Fabling, h hearty vote of thanks was accorded by acclamation *o the perJormers. He then leturned thanka to (he audience for their generous support m a few appropriate words. The singing of tho National Anthem terminated one of the liosc attended and inoßt enjoyable concerts evei held m Brookside.
