SOUTH BRIDGE.
The monthly meeting of the above Committee was held on Monday evening, there being PRESENT Messrs J. Frame, (chairman) R. 0. Burns, Penfold, R. Webster, C. H. Willis, Rev E. WhiMionse. The minutes of last meeting were and confirmed. THE MASTER'S REPORT Showed the total number on the roll to be 317 ; average attendance 2 62, He called attention to repairs needed to the pump m the boys' playground, and also to the range m the master's, house. ■■■■"'■■■■• i '%: The chairman reported that he had written to the Boaid asking for a new range, but had not yet reooived a reply. His action was endorsed. ' [ GBNBRAL. . The iSecretary reported that ho had written to the caretaker' as fn^tisucted. .. On motion of Mr Burns, lecobded by Mr Penfold, it wai decided to provide a curtain for one of the glass doors m the school, as requested by the head master. It was also decided to attend to the necessary, (repairs ]to:the pump;/; |'y • ) A copylof'nW regulations wiitbj /c ference to pupil teachers was laid on the table. , Accounts amounting to £2 11s 81 were passed for payment. ! ENTETAIUMENT. The chairman introduced the subject of a concert m aid of the School prize fund. ;He read a letter from Mr Crooks quoting his terms for giving a m&gic lantern' exhibition. This he thought would be a desirable change from the usual run of concerts. The committee seemed to approve, < of. the idea ; it was decided to hold an entertainment, and a sub-committee consisting of Messrs Bdrns and Willis was appointed to make all necessary arrangements, with instructions to arrange \f possible for Mr Crooks' magic lantern exhibition. "The[question- of concluding the enter tainmefit with a dance provoked some dispussjon. Mr 0. Willis moved that toe. entertainment be followed by a dance, |and Mr Webster seconded the motionl On being put to the vote it was carried by a majority of one. This being all the business,, the meettermisited.
