The regular- monthly meeting of the above Board was held on Saturday, there be*ng ...... . : . .. . . {PRESENT, Messrs G. C* Waby (Chairman), It, Lochhead, W. Watson, and P. J. Heoley. Mr Jones was absent from illness. The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed, / . -.-,<■ M CORRESPONDENCE was read as under :— From jßlr J, Q'Bbyle, asking for an extension of time to complete his con tract with the Board.— He wad granted one month's extension From, Mr H. Overton, asking' to have part of,!, the Lako Eoad repaired.-— Granted, ... Mr Watson also drew attention of the Board to the spread of gorse on the road approaching the Selwyh river. He farther asked that same road- be repaired.—The latter request was granted. Agreed to call tor tenders for forming and shingling the road. From the Auditor General, re audit. From the Property Tax Department, re subsidy due the Board. ■ PERSONAL INTERVIEWS. M«ssr* Ffttehara and Schnelle waited on the Board again re the drainage dispute, and asked that a portion of the road adjoining their properties be repaired. /They also asked that the board compel Mr McLachlan to remove certain dams erected by him m the ditch on the road.— The Board resolved Ist, that the Board cannot seei its way 'to/ form the road until such time as the drainage dispute was settled. 2nd, that notice be given to Mr MoLachlan to remove the dams complained of. Later m the day th& same parties again waited on the Board, and informed the members that the dispute as to <the drainage question was m a fair w^iy of being settled. Mr O'Neill interviewed the Board, and asked that a portion of Boggy creek be cleaned. — Granted. Mr Frankish asked the Board to form the road leading to his property.— , To be attended to. Mr MoLachlan complained that Mi* Fincham- had not filled m the drain across the road satisfactorily ; also that Mr Fincbara had obstructed the road by placing ,gpnse, .timber, etc., acroaa, it—It was decided to request Mr Fincham to remove the'pbfl^ructions at once, and to make a satisfactory job of filling 'm the drain. : « ; ; ;.!•■: LABOUR. ..'. , Mr Henley: moved the. resolution of which he had given notice at last meet ing, to the effect that road repairing be let by contract. The motion found no seconder, and fell through. The overseer's report? was read, and adopted. TENDERS were accepted as under :■— For shingliag Selwyn and JtCakaia Road — M. Wofyte, at 9J per yard. For single Ji.orse labour at ' Southbridge division— Mr Doyle, 6s 6d per day. For double horse labour— Mr Doyle, 8s 4d per day. ', r ' ; 3r For single team Lre9ton division— J. Brawley, 8s per day.
