THE REGISTRAR'S OFFICE.
. '■.■•.'■..:■•■-. To theEditdr. ' \ ■"•' Sir,— I uiv'crstarici that a petition Dtfying foe Governor bo convert the
Southbridge Town Board Pistrict into a separate district for the rtgistra tion of Births, Marriages and Deaths, is now lying at the Town Board's office for signature. Before these signatures are affixed, I would like to remind the ratepayers that the conversion of the Town District will not be a great boon to the public, aud the narrow limit of. the (imposed district is such »s will assuredly secure the refusal of the prayer of the petition. The object of such a petition should be the benefit of the whole district and not of the ten people who during tbe year require the services of the registrar. To only serve the residents m South bridge and dtive all the others outside to Leeston, will not react to the interest of thifc I «p.w whip'- 1 A word- to* 1 , the wjse ought to be sufficient — I am, etc., ; .
