The Litany vras then read by thoi Incumbent, the Rev. E. Whitehonae, who at its conclusion, presented Messrs. P.. R. Allpress and O. Johnson to His Lordship,' for admission as Lay Readers lor the Sedgemere district, A short special service was, pet formed, at the cooclnsioh of which the Bishop handed to each of thi two geDtleraen his licpncel ' \ The Lesson having special reference to (he rite of Confirmation was then read, and a Hymn having been saiig, His Lordship addressed the Candidates, who were conducted one by one to the foot of the altar, when each received ihe solemn rite. There were seven male and four female candidates. A most impressive address by His Lordship, wh ; ch was listened to with great attention by the large congregation, brought the service to a close.
