A correspondent at Cromwell wired to the ‘ Star ’ this afternoon that at 10 o’clock this morning when passing the Halfway House, he saw the naked body of a man floating in the Molyneux. The body is believed to bo that of the missing Andrew Dalziel. A Sydney telegram to-day states that the steamers Helen Nicol and Kweelawarra came into collision last night off Trial Bay. The Kweela* warra sank in seven minutes. The captain and 35 of the crew and passengers went down in her. Three of the Helen Niool’s crew are missing. The Kweelawarra was a vessel of 1000 tons, and was owned by Howard, Smith,, and Co. The Kweelawarra was bound from this port to Brisbane, and the, Helen Nicol was coming from Grafton to Sydney. The Kweelawarra had 25 passengers. The Helen Nicol , was severely damaged by the collision, and put into Trial Bay. London, December 7. Fifeeen hundred leading Unionists attended the conference upon Irish affairs. Lords Derby and Selborne, Mr Goshen and Mr Trevelyan spoke in support of Lord Hartington. Mr Chamberlain wired that there could be no reunion of the Liberal party until the policy pursued by Mr Gladstone was abandoned - • Mr Blight wrote that their was no hope of a moderate policy from Mr Gladstone. Lord Hartington denied that there was any sympathy between the English democracy and the Anarchist policy of the Land League.
