PRESENTATION TO MR V. PYKE, M.H.R.
Sir Robert Stout last week, on behalf of a number of members of Parliament, presented Mr Vincent Pyae, M.H.R., with a silver snufl-box in token of their esteem for him and of their appreciation of the services rendered by him on behalf of the goldfields. The present was accompanied by the following letter : Wellington, 19th August 1886. Vincent Pyke, Esq. M.H.R., Diindin, Mr dear Mr Pyke,—l have been lequested on behalf of Ihe following members of tho House of Representatives representing gold* fields and other constituents—viz , the Hon Sir Robert Stout, W. J.M. Larnaob, Colonel Fraser, A. R. Guinness,, J. Bevan, R. J. Seddon, A. A. S. Monteith, T. Fergus, C. Cowan, Scobie Mackenzie, J. M’Kenzie, H. Hiist, W. F. Boeklanc. W. P. Pearson, L. M. Grace, R. Hurathouse, J. P. Joyce, J. Kerr, H. A. Levastam. H. Fitzhorbert, J. Fulton, and S. Locke—to ha'd you the enclosed snuff-box with your name suitably inscribed thereon as a small memento of the esteem and regard with which you are held by them, and also as a slight token of their * appreciation of your many valueahle services rendered by you on behalf of the goldfields, in which you have always taken so great an interest.
