DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL.

The usual monthly meeting of the Trustees was held in the commmittee room. Town Hall, on Monday evening, the 9tb inst.

Present! Messrs W. Fraser (in the chair), L. D. Maogeorge, J. E. Stevens, hon. Treasurer ; J. 15. Wingfield, J. Crawford, P. Jeffery, and A. Joss. The Secretary read a note from Mr J. Hickson, the Chairman of Trustees, explaining his absence through ill-health. The minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed.

The inward and outward correspondence was read, received, and adopted. The Visiting Committee’s No. 1 report, embodying the following recommendations was read and received That bins for flour, sugar,-etc., be fixed in the store room ; that carpeting be obtained for the female ward j and that the gates of hospital grounds be repaired. The report also embodied a complaint against horses and cattle being allowed at large in the hospital gardens. The Committee were empowered to carry out their recommendations, and the Secretary was instructed to write officially to the Resident Surgeon and state that under no pretext whatever are horses or nows to be allowed to roam in the hospital grounds. Accounts for salaries and supplies amonnting to L6B 15s 4d, and L 6 18s on account of water supply as per schedule, were passed for payment.

The Treasurer laid on the table the fob lowing statement, which was read and received

Statement of Receipts and Expenditure for current year—April Ist to July 3lst, Receipts.

The Surgeon’s report was read and receivcu.

OS3 was re-elected a member of tbo yrsttrng Committee.

Messrs Maogeorge, Stevens, and Joss were appointed a sub-committee to report at the next monthly meeting on the condition of the fences and gates to the hospital grounds. e

The meeting then adjourned till Thura day, the I2th mat, at 4 p.m.

On meeting on the 12di the same Trustees as above being in attendance, as also was the Rev, Mr Lothian. A letter from the Resident Surgeon conveying hic resignation, same to take effect on the loth January, ICS7, wrs read. After discussion, it was proposed by Mr Jeffery.
