At tho Laud Board yesterday, John Wilson asked that section in Lander district be set apart for sale on tho Deferred Payment system. Mr W. L. Simpson made a similar applicaa tiou. Referred to Chief Surveyor as to making railway reserve the boundary of the section.
Thomas Newton and John Ogelvie were thrown one of a spring cart at Harailtons, near Naseby, on Tuesday, and both killed on the spot. The for" mer had his neck broken- and the latter fell on Iris face and cheat. On examination it was found that the bones of the chest were fractured and broken, and some of the large blood vessels of the heart ruptured Tho occurrence has thrown quite a gloom over the district.
