RESULT OF A SINGULAR FAMILY QUARREL.
An interesting decision wav recently given at Chicago by Judge Tuley in the case of Tied emeu against Diette* man. This was a bill filed by complainants as brothers and sisters of Hana Christoph Teckeuberg, deceased; to recover a shave in lus estate from Ida widow. Sim claimed she held half the estate iu her own right and had purchased the remainder from Minnie Teckeuberg, dangthev of deceased, and his only heir The coiapl’inanta, in reply, contended (hat their niece Minnie was rlogitinsate, and could not inherit from her father. It appeared that Minnie was bom in Hamburg in July, 1850, ami Iter parents were married April 28,1806, before a United States Consul in Germany. Bt aides tie question of the legitimacy of the lin'd, the case involved the questions whether tbs marriage of foreigners before an American Consul was valid, and whether Minnie was Teckcnberg’s daughter. The con plainants contended she was the daughter of Mrs Tcckeuand a Hamburg banker. The Judge said there was no presumption of law in regard to the parentage of an ihc» gitimatc child, but he had no doubt fiom the testimony, she was the child of ••’efendasit and ihc deceased. And it was also shown tuatTcckenburg had constantly acknowledged her a a his daughter hoih before and after marriage, 'The remaining question was th*n as to whether flip marriage was valid.
