A question arose as to the supplying! of papers nud periodicals by Mr J. Braithwait.-.
Resolved I That as the supply by Mr Braithwaito is irregular, he he requested to stop sending those he is now supplying as from the 30th September, the date they are paid for. Resolved 'That the Secretary write and usee. tain the price and terms other newsagents would supply the institution with the papers and periodicals required Discussion ensued as to the necessary works required to be done in and around Clyde. It was very generally admitted that considering the large amount of revenue the County Council derived from the town of Clyde but little was received back in the shape of improvements, or the necessary repairs to the roads. The state of the road to Alexandra, within the town limits, after the late rams, it being a succession of deep water holes, was referred to; as also were the roads approaching the school. After a long and animated discussion it was decided that the grounds of complaint again»t tho county be embodied in one or a series of propositions to he dealt with at next meeting, and same be presented to tho Council through the member for the riding. The snh committee, in whose hands is the fencing in of the domain, reporded that they had made arrangements for a number of live posts. In was resolved—That the County Council he asked to assist in fencing in the domain, as a poition would be admirably adapted for tree planting In reference to the question of water supply. thi sub-committee appointed to deal with that matter, said they were not as yet prenared with a report. The meeting then closed.
