MURDER WILL OUT.

John B. Burch, a prosperous young farmer living near Shoals, Marti i County (Ind.), disappeared mysteriously about five years ago, and no trace of his whereabouts was ever found. The matter was completely forgotten until one Sunday recently, when the superintendent of the Mar* tin County Poorhouse was sent for by one,of the inmates, Mrs Archer, who informed him that Burch was murdered by her husband, his brothers Thomas and Martin, and John Lynch and George Colt, bhe said the Archers were a desperate lot, and were engaged in horse stealing and other lawless .acts;, that they had frequently endeavoured to induce Burch to join them, but with no avail, and they finally determined tp get rid of him as a dangerous man. One day her hnsband, John B. Archer, inveigled Burch down to the bank of Lost River, murdered him, and threw him in the water.. When the people dragged the river the Archers got scared, took out the body, put it in the boiler of au engine of an old portable sawmill, boiled it for two days and nights, then took out the bones and placed them in a grave without a coffin. Here the body of Burch was allowed to rest but,a few days, when if? was again taken up and placed somewhere, else, Mrs Archer knowing not where. ' The confession was made before the Prosecuting Attorney, and implicated all the above-named men, and warrants were made out for their arrest. Sheriff Podgett arrived, and with a deputy proceeded to the farm five miles south, where Archer was working. Archer was making rails. Podgett showed him the warrant, when Archer declared ha would not go, went to the house, got a gun, ami ordered (he officers ofi the premises. A man and woman were at the house with Archer with guns, and frightened the officers away. Mrs Archer says that her husband deserted her shortly after the murder, and poverty drove her to the poorhou ;e. The affair has created a sensation.
