DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL.

The usual monthly meeting of the Committee_ of Management was held in the Committee Room, Town Hall, on Monday evening, the Ist inst. Present—Messrs B. Naylor (Chairman), Holt, Attfield, Cambridge, J. B. Slovens (Treasurer), and Geo. Fache (Secretary). Tha minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed.

Inward correspondence, including letter from Colonial Secretary’s that subsidy on subscriptions, etc., up to 30th of November. 1885, had been passed for payment in favor of the existing Committee, and that from date all subsidies must be claimed by the District Board. A telegram from same intimating that an order-in-council had been made incorporating the Dunstan District Hospital as a separate institution under the Act of 1885. A telegram from same intimating that Monday. March Bth had been fixed for the first meeting of contributors for the election of trustees ; also a telegram to the effect that Ll5O had been allocated for water supply (to the Dunstan District Hospital, which will be paid to the treasurer of the trustees, who would be communicated with on the subject. _ Letter was also read from Mr W. Williams, offering to rent the Hospital’s right to head of water f»om the Wia Puna Creek. - Resolved—that tha letters and telegrams be received.

Visiting Committed reported that the roof of the building required attention, as it leaked in various places. As the existing Committee would go out of office on the Bth inst, it was deemed inadvisable to go to any expense, but tq-'v refer the matter to the trustees to beMV elected. yr f Reports-No. 2 recommending payment of accounts for salaries and supplies for the month of January amounting to L 55 16s 3d, and for February CIO 6s sd, were read and received.

The Treasurer’s report was read and re ceived.

The Surgeon’s report was read and received.

Resolved—That the Treasurer and Secretary be instructed to prepare reports to lay before the meeting of contributors to be held on Monday next, the Bth inst. The meeting then closed.
