DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL.

The usual monthly meeting of the Comimittee of Management was held in the -committee room, Town Hall, on Monday ■evening, the Ist inst., at 8 p.m. Present Messrs B. Naylor, (in the ■chair), Holt, Cambridge, Attfield, Crawford, J. B. Stevens, Treasurer; and Geo. Fache, Secretary.

The minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed.

The Secretary stated that since last meetdng he had supplied the Ocago Central Hospital Board with all information sought by them as to receipts and expenditure for the past seven years, also estimate of expenditure for the four months from Ist October to the Ist of February, 1886 ; and had also prepared petition to His Excellency tha Governor, praying for the incorporation of the Ibinstan Distiict Hospital as a separate institution under the “ Hospitals and Charitable Aid Act, 1885,” and forwarded same. Letter from the Colonial Secretary's ■office was read, acknowledging receipt of the petition, and notifying that the spirit ■of same had been gazetted in terms of tho Act.

Tho Visiting Committee reported that the newly elected Wardsman and Matron, Mr and Mis Fountain, lata of the Dunedin Hospital, had been duly installed in office, .and that they were a most suitable couple ; •also that the wards had been whitewashed. No. 2 report, recommending payment of amounting to L 52 5s lOd for -salaries and supplies for the month of Do -comber, was read and received.

The Treasurer’s report was read and received.

The Treasurer stated that the amount collected under the new Act was about JLI4O, and that sime had been placed to a separate account in the Bank of New Zt aHand. The meeting then closed.
