Ai instructed at laat meeting the Engineei reported—A road could be constructed to the landing at th« foot of Lake Hawns, at the Kngi ear's estimate, L2I ; the Engineer also reported there was another rente some 31 chains shorter, bat would cost L 63. Cr M ‘Carthy strongly urged the making of the shorter route,—lt was eventually decided to make the longer aad cheaper roa I.
Tha Engineer was instructed to get planks .put across the Tinkers Sludge Channel, M asked for by the residents. The Engineer was instructed to lay off a •half chuid road between sections 6 to 11 and 12 to 17, block L Ti -. r Hill. The Council retired to Committee, and on resuming, recommended as follows : Contract No. 135, no tender accepted. Oin tract KdC 147—P. McDonald, accepted:* Contract -No. ff4B—Steele- aad Featherstone. accepted. Contract No. 119 Steele and: Featheraccepted Contract No. |l4o- J. Abornethy. Contract No. !46—J McCormack.
