DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL.

The usual monthly meeting of the Committee of Management was held in the committee room, Town Hall, Clyde on Monday, the 6th inst, at 8 p.m. Present s Messrs B. Naylor, President ; J. S, Hickson, Vice president; Msceorge, Crawford, At I field, Cambridge, Jeffery, and J. E. Stevens, Treasurer.

The minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed.

The Visiting Committee’s report recommending payment of accounts for salaries and supplies for the past month amounting to L 39 14s 3d, was read and received. The Treasurer’s report showing a eredit balance of L 57 3s 4d was read and received.

The Surgeon’s report was read and received.

The whole question of filling the position ■of wardsman, lately vacant by the recent and much to be regretted death of Mr Knox, was fully discussed, and a letter from the late wardsman of the Wakatipu Hospital applying for the situation was read. Resolved—That applications for a married ■couple Without encumbrance to fill offices ■of wardsman and matron be invited by advertisement in the Dunedin and local papers. Applications (written) to be received by the Secretary not later than Monday, November 9, at 8 p.m. Combined salary L 72 per annum.

Resolved ; That Mrs Knox be informed that her services will be dispensed with as from the 30th November next, and that the paid wages be at the rate of LI per week till the expiry of that time. Resolved-: That the Secretary be instructed to apply to the Government for tbe vote passed during the past session in aid of a water supply to the institution. Mr C. Atttiebt was re elected member of the Visiting Committee.

Vicexpiesid' nt, Treasorer, Secretary, and Mr Macgeorge was appointed to examine into the new Hospital and Charitable Aid Bill, and bring up report at special meeting >o he held on Monday, the 19th inst., at 8 p.m. Resolved ; That a cordial vote of thanks he recorded to the ladies and gentleman ■who assisted at the late concert in aid of the institution, and that the Secretary hand -copy of resolution to each person who so assisted. The meeting then closed.
