The’\olunteer Parade before Sir G. Whitmore yesterday was very sue cessful. Nearly a thousand volunteers wete on the ground from Dunedin and suburbs.
The Horse Parade was very good, and the weather fine.
The inquest ou the body of Mis Butler closed last night, when the jury found a verdict of wilful murder against some person or persons un» known.

The Abyssiniuns lost a large number of men. ,
