[BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.] Dunedin, August 20,7.30 p.m, A man|named] John Crisp, whilst drawing an unexploded charge of dynamite at Deborah Bay this morns ing, the charge went off, and he was killed’on the spot. A woman threw;[her boy, about four years old, on a railway line before a morning train at Upper Ilutt on Tuesday, but he was rescued before the train overtook him.

A man assuming the garb of a priest and .giving the name of Father Kanavacks, has been arrested in India as a Russian spy, ho is thought by the authorities to be identical with tho ex-communist Olivier Pain, who, it is believed, recently kept the Mahdi in* formed ofthe movements and strength of the British troops in Egypt Earl Carnarvon, Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, accompanied by the Countess is making a tour ot the west of Ireland.

The vice-regal party has met so far with a hearty reception.
