A daring bank robbery is reported from Melbourne. The manager and clerk, cf a branch of the National Bank of Australia at Simpson’s Road, a short distance from the city, were auackel by three masked men just on their arrival .from the chief office with-LI 155. •. The were both knocked down and tbeir hands securely tied behind th«icbacks, in which position' they were left, the robbers getting clear off with their booty. The numbers iof the notes stolen are not known, and there is no clue yet of the robbers; The robbers effected an entrance into the building through a window, end awaite I the arrival of the manager and assistant inside the bank. The attack was so sudden that resistance was impossible on the pa-t of the victim*, who were gagged and bound hand and foot under the .table when eventually discovered.
