(From onr own Correspondent). Dun edit, April 30, 7.45 p.tn. A telegram from I'aponui yesterday states there has been heavy fall of snow an I Fairs, and all the o-eeks are flooded. It was decided last night to form an Irish corps in Dunedin. A large quantity of war material is expeeteil in this colony in a few days. No business of local interest was trans acted at the Land Board yesterday. It is rumoured that the Hon. \Vtri_ Robinson will take all his horses to Sydney ~ A carpenter named John Brown, working on the railway at Auckland, was knocked down by an engine to day and sustained severe injuries. The Keep It Dark Company has declared a dividend of eighteenpenca per share. There is really nothing of interest stirring.

The Standard this morning publishes a telegram from its special correspondent with General Lnmsden, to the effect tin at the Russian troops havejoccnpied Ma ucha.lt, a position on the River Murghab, 20 miles south of Penjdeh. No details, however, are given with regard to the occurrence. In the House of Commons lat nigljt Lord Edmund b’itzmaurice. Under Secretary for Foreign Affairs.annouuced that tie Government have received a telegram from Sir Peter Lumsden dated Sunday, April 26, in which he stated that the Russian troops were advancing np the Valley of Murghab, and had occupied Vlaruohak. It is reported that the Russian’s Council of the Empire will reject all the proposed concessions for the settlement of the Afghtan difficulty. =
