Minutes of meetings of 17 hj September, 10 It Novemher, IGih ant !7th Uecember, 1834, were read and Continued, after which the Rev Jam-s Henry, VI. A., was unanimously elected Moderator for the current year. Report of Mission Distriet of Wan aka and Hawea Mr Bla-kie, Moderator of Hawea an! 'I hen the Church Extension Committee sent Mr Johnston. Divinity Stud nr, who is now labouring there with acceptance ; but h- will require to leave in April. Mr Bao kie further reported that the Ohnrch Extension Committee had as yet, so far, given no grant to assist the district in paying the sala yof a m ssionary. After consideration the Presbytery adop el the follow ng d- - liverance : Receive the report an I are glad to learn that the servict s of a Missionary have now been available in the Wan-iki and Hawea dis rict for a cnnsideianle period, and respectfully request the Church Exten sion Committee to supplement the eff nts of the people theie hy a grant of 1,30 towards payment of a missionary’s salary. Ida Valley. Mr Lothian tai l on the table an application from Ida Valley congregation respectfully asking the Presbytery if they could arrange for a fortnightly service at Ida Valley. It was agreed that the Ida Va'ley congretation bei 'g much nearer Backs than Alexandra it should bo placed under the auperin.enJance of the Minister of Lauder. Miscellaneous. Ramits of Syno 1 were left over till next meeting in September. It was reported that the records of Alex anlra Kirk Session and Roxhu gh had been examined and found correct, and that all records of s-saions and managing commit tees should be sent up for examination at next meeting. The following special collections appointed by the Synod ware intimated, viz Church extention in March ; Passage money of Mi isters in May ; Age lan) infirm » mister Fund in August; and Missions in Novemlier.
The Clerk stated that a document had been forwarded to him for the Presbytery, and at his request it was resolved that a committee he, appointed' .to examine thd isame and report. The Committee having considered tins
document referred to, ; recommended to the Presbytery that it be not received, believ. iug that tbe matter had arisen cat of a piisunderstanding. The Presbytery unanimously agreed to receive the report, aud act in accordance therewith.
Tbe Presbytery then adjourned to meet at Ophir on the third We nesday «.f; leiuber, being the 16 hj day of the mouth, at the usual hour. -
