CLYDE ATHENEUM AND LIBRARY TRUST.
The annual meeting of subscribers to the Library was held in the reading room at 8 o clock p. m. on the 14th inst. Mr Cambridge was voted to the Chair, and after giving a resume of the business transacted by the retiring committee, of which he succeeded Mr Evans as chairman, oiled upon the Secretary, Mr Smart, to read the minutes of last annual meeting, it was unanimously agreed by the meeting that same should be adopted. The Treasurer, J. S Dickie, submitted the annual balance sheets as follows :
LIABILITIES, Nil. Audited and found correct, Frederick Jeffery, January I4th, 1885. Auditor. After several questions ireie satisfactorily answered the reports as above were adopted. The retiring committee were accorded a ' vote of thanks and the Chairman vacated the chair, Mr Hickson was now called upon to taka the chair, Mr Smart acting as Btcretary and the following gentleman were appointed as the Athemeum Trust and Library Committee for the ensuing year : Messrs Hickson, Stevens, Clinton,' Bell Naylor, Joss, and Dickie. ’ After the usual vote of thanlr« to *ha Chair the masting closed.
