Despite everything that baa been done during the past few years to check' the increase of that insignificant and detestably mischievous little rodent the rabbit,,by present appearances they will be as numerous as ever, it indeed, not be more so in a short time. From every quarter, the deep wail is heard they are coming in countless hordes upon us, but from where they come is the mystery none are able to solve. It is perfectly true that the fecundity of the pest is somewhat wonderful, some does having been caught with as many as 16 young, yet all cannot be so prolific, and to some other cause than that it is thought is to be traced the increase.
