At Munich on July 2 a sub.commissioned officer mimed Jacob, who had been directed to clean a cannon, put a charge into the weapon when no one was near him, and placing his chest against the ronsz'e. fired the vent. His body wai blown to pieces. It is believe 1 ha was impelled to the tot by fear of punishment-
