CLYDE WATER SUPPLY.
TO THE EDITOR.
SlE—Cqnld you inform rao where the inhabitants ,of Clyde obtain their water supply from for drinking ah I domestic purposes T: Can it be put of that filthy-looking race that iff ows at the back of the town, and thence through the streets, collecting the drainage and sewerage water in its course?
. Is the grave to claim a few more victims from this poison and fever-laden source before anything is done .in the matter?
Tnerewas a public meeting of the ratepayers of this town—it was convened about two years ago—to consider this important subject' the water question. I believe it was considered, and no'hiug was done but the thinking, and very little of that. Whose duty is it to move in this matter ; who will bell the cat?
To my mind it is the Board of Health that should look after this matter, which is of th« most vital importance to every in habitant of the town. . The importance of this matter shall be my only excuse for trespassing so much upon your time and space.—l am, etc., I' OVEL. Clyde, I6th September, 1884.
