PUBLIC TRUST OFFICE OF NEW ZEALAND. ANY person may appoint the Public Trustee executor and trustee under his will or codicil. Tv Any present trustee, may transfer the management of the trust property to the Public Trustee, who will thereupon hold such property upon the origiual trusts attaching thereto. Any person, company, association, or public body within or without the colony, may place any property belonging to them in charge of the Public Trustee upon trust for such uses as may be delined in the deed creating the trust. Any building, land, or friendly society may, by its rules, provide that propertybelonging to it may be placed in the Public Trust Office, for such trusts and uses and with such powers as may be defined in or by the said rules. The advantages offered are : Ist. State Guarantee against peculation, fraud, or dishonesty. All proposed investments arc considered by a board, consisting of tbe Honorable Colonial Treasurer, tho Attorney General, the Comptroller and Auditor General, the Government Insurance Commissioner, and the Public Trustee. Careful consideration of alt securities offered is therefore ensured. 3. Tbe Public Trustee, in his corporate capacity, never pies, never leaves the COUNTRY, AND NEVER BECOMES INCAPAciatf.d, thus avoiding the many inconveniences resulting from frequent fresh appointments of Trustees, necessitated by death, change of abode, or mental or bodily infirniilv. 4th. Punctuality and promptitude in the remittance of periodical payments to beneficiaries under trust or will to any part of tho colony or else where at which it may bo desired that payments should be ma le. 5. Tbe effective check which is called into operation before any moneys can bo drawn from the Public Trustee's account. Cih. Reasonable charges : On estates such os are now considered the Public Trustee is autlmiSnl to charge 11 per cent, on all receipts, Mid 1A per cent, on disbursements, and 5s per cent, on all moneys invested. No charge i? made for obtaining probate, nor for passing stoop and property tax returns, nor for cm respondence however voluminous. Thus the saving to estates placed in this office is considerable.
