Mr Tho nas D. Jennings, fur whom it is claimed <hat ho is the biggest man in Ana. trulia, keeps the Harvest Hotao Inn on the New Town road, about a mile and' a half from the centre of Hobart He is sft lOin high,- weighs 324 stone, measures 68in. round the cheat, 82in round the waist, and 204 in. round the calf. Ha is perfect healthy, and boasts that he has never taki n a dose of physio, in bis life. Mr Jennings was originally a siropjgly built man, and pleasured 4 tin round the waist .when he was 29 years of age, but hi,did not begin to put on much flesh till he was about forty. Ho is now sixty, having been born in Yorkshire in the year 1324. For many years he kept the De-went In i at Risdon Perry, in Tasmania. Three years ago he movedto hi« present state of location. The oddest thing is, be says, that he never realises the idea that he is utilise other people, ami when he sees them staring at him it makes him laugh. He does not walk ranch, though .he can do so, he says, “as well as ar.y man,” so he uses a pony chaise, which is rather rough on the pony; The. subject of this extiaoroinary ,development is extremely temp ra’e, oais only two meals a day, and drinks very little. Drinking, ha says, reduces his bulk, but he cannat stand it. At the Theatre Royal in Hobart they have to open both folding doors to let him into the -tails, and by the fact of the doors being opened the public know he is coming to the theairr. Mr Tl.omas intends to gen married again, and is by no means worried about his age, which he carries remarkably well, being indeed the only instance of a fat man who has preserved liis health and his bulk togethe .
