CHESS MATCH
The Dunedin players in the chess match by telegraph between six members of the Dunedin Chess ami Draughts Club and six players of Clyde and Cromwell, were accommodated in the room of Mr Logan, Inspector of Telegraphs, Mr A. D. Luhecki. offi--cer in charge, was present, and Mr Keys, operator, did his work to the satisfaction of the players, A large number of visit, -rs ■were present. The contest arose out of a » challenge issued in the first instance by ■the Clyde and Cromwell players, and while the city club rather anticipated defeat, they determined in order to encourage the game 1 to take up the challenge. The following are the 1 names of the players as pitted •against each other, with their resiiecrive scores. The country team played from Cromwell, Mr Ward officiating as operator. Clyde & Cromwell.
