There is nothing very fresh to report from file roefa on the Old Man Range. Mr Neal, who lor Mine years has been engaged on some of the Blue Spur claims, has been ap- f pointed manager (ff White’s Reef Company, and has taken the company’s mine in charge. He will at once commence work. He expresses a high opinion of the prospects of tbs company, Mr Neal is a thoroughly practical man, and comes .into , the district with good credentials. It fis devoutly to be wished that under bis management the mine willpay up to expectations. A meeting of the directors of the pinion Company is called for to-night at the company’s office, Arrowtown, for the .purpose of electing a manager, and to make arrangements for starting work. A meeting of the share-. holders of the Advance Company’s Claim is also to be held to-night at Alexandra, when the manager will .bring np his report; there is nothing fresh to report of this claim. Steel and others had the right granted them to bring in water from the-left-hand branch of the Gorge Creek on to the reefs on Monday last. It is understood that they will commence cutting their race right off the reel, and that they will finish it in about 3or 4 months.- There is nothing doing in shares, both buyers and sellers being on the watch.
