Harry Goodman, a Salvation Army patron, at Christchurch, was yesterday arrested for criminal assault on a young girl in the Domain ; and a man named William Goldstein, was also arrested there on similar charge. Tne Wellington arson case concluded,and Mullen was found not guilty. Further accounts are to 'hand from the north of the damage done to the shipping and crops by late gales. An inquest was held to-day on the body of John Stephenson, and a verdict was returned that he died from natural causes. Another batch of New Caledonian escapees has arrived in Sydney. Mr Stout, in a long letter, replies to Mr Braithwaiie’s reasons for his renouncing Sis Freethought belief.
