MINING NEWS.

The Union Gold-Mining Co. (Limited)’ Obelisk Range, held their first meeting at the Registered Office of the Company, Ar* rowtown, on the 22nd inst. Mr H. B. Smith in the chair. There wag a fair attendance of shareholders, and considerable interest was manifested as to the prospects of the mine. The principal business was essentially formal, namely, appointing a legal manager, adopting rules, and sleeting directors. MrJ. F. Healey was appointed legal manager, 22 rules were adopted, and the following gentlemen wore elected a Board of Directors for the ensuing year, viz., Messrs H, B. Smith, Thos, Harvey, Bwen

Duncan, L. Resta, A. Keats, Louis Gard« and John O’Kane.
