Young Lochnivar ia a beautiful dark bay, rising 8 years old, standing 17 hands high, bred by H, Nichols, Esq., of Tasmania. His sire, Sir Walter Scott, imported from Scotland by Doders and Hartwell,was got by the Duke of Hamilton’s champion horse, the original Sir Walter Scott, Dam Blossom, g dam Charlotte, by Lincoln Hero, imported; g.g, dam Grey Charlotte, the great prizetaker in Tasmania, got by Grey Champion, imported; dam Black[Champion mare by Diamond, imported. Young Lochnivar gained the following prizes as a two-year old—First at Hobart Town, first at Melton Mowbray, and first at Richmond. Young lochnivar has proved himself a sure foal getter. Terms—Ll 10s, payable on February 1, 1884 ; and LI 10s payable if proved to be in foal. Groom’s fee ss, payable at first service. All mares sold or exchanged held to be in foal. Groomage fee, if not paid on first service, to be added to service fee. Guarantees by agreement. A paddock will be provided for mares from a distance. Champion has an excellent temper, immense bone, superior action, and is a sure foal getter, and is aeknowleged by competent judges to be the best colonial bred horse in the colonies.
