Maiden Plate of 15 sovs. For all horses that have never won an advertised race of more than 15 sovs. All horses that have won a race of 15 sovs and under to carry 7lbs penalty. Weight for age. Distance, 1J mile. Post entry, 20s. Vincent Jockey Club Handicap, A sweepstake of 1 sov,, with 25 sovs added. Second horse to receive amount of sweepstake. Distance, 1J mile. Weights declared immediately after. Acceptance at 10 p.m. The winner of the Matakanui Handi* cap to carry lOlbs penalty. Member’s Handicap, of 15 sovs. "•'distance, 1( mile. Welter Handicap. Gentlemen riders. Second horse to receive 5 sovs from S'ako Post entry, free. Acceptance, sa. For members of the Vincent Jockey Club enrolled before the Ist January, 1884. Any person washing to qualify for this race can do so by forwarding name and address with member’s fee (one guinea) to the Seoretary, Ophir. Consolation Handicap of 5 sovs. For all beaten horses, distance lj mile, Post entry, ss, RULES AND REGULATIONS. No person shall bo allowed to enter or run a horse unless qualified as a subscriber of not less than 21s. to the race fund. No entries will be received for any of the above races except upon this condition. That all disputes, claims, and objections, arising out of the racing shall he decided by the stewards, or whomsoever they may appoint, and their decision on all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall bo final. Three horses to start for all post entry races or no event. Jockey costume will be enforced. Five per cent will be deducted from all stakes. The Dunedin Jockey Club Rules will be strictly enforced. Any person entering a protest will have to deposit the sura of LI Is, and should such protest be deemed frivolous by the stewards, the amount will be forfeited.
