Since steps have been taken to form this Company an offer of 1,3000 cash was made to Mr White for the claim, but was iclosed, This country is well adapted for opening by adits, affording a good height of backs Timber can be obtained from the Waikaia Bush as soon as a road is made, and for which a sum of L 2500 haa been placed on the Estimates. It is expected that by sluicing away more i.f the surface, gold will be obtained sufficient to pay the greater proportion of the expense to be incurred in the opening up the mine. ° The Proprietor, Mr While, retains 3000 fully paid-up Shares as the consideration for handing ever the whole property to the Company, and he haa agreed to retain the management for 12 months, subject to the approval of the Directors. The Share List will close on the first day of November next, and early application is necessary, as requests for nea ly 5000 Snares of the 7000 offered to the pu lie have been already made by residents in the district.
