DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL.
The usual monthly meeting of the Committee of Management was hold in the Committee Room, Town Hail,' on Monday evening, the Bth inst., at 8 p. m ■ Present—Messrs B Naylor (President),, J. <U. Cambridge (Vice President), J. E.' Slevtn-i (Hon. Treasurer), Sims, Hoit, and Geo, Kaohe (Secretary). . The minutes of. p-evbua meeting were rea-l and contirme i. . The Secretary slated that written to Vincent Pyke, Esq.,; M.H.R., relative to the admission of the patient Murdoch into the Benevolent A-yium ; also for prices and o' hj r particulars of iron water piping and pottery drain pipes and tiles. The Viritinc Oomm ttee reported that they had visited the Hospital s veral tim s daring trie month, an I found evervthim.working smoothly and well. The War daman complained, however,. that all his labour in the garden was thrown away, as immediately any of the vegetables appeared above ground, they we e eaten down with rabbits. The Committee recommended that sufficient wire netting he obtained to en close the vegetable garden.—Recommendation agreed to. The Suit Committee appointed at last •m- e-inu reported that during the month— Is:,. That they had had the two closets attached to the building ■ converted into - arih closet . 2nd. That the two om«do. r closets had been removed and new pits tine. 3 d. That a general receptacle for rubbish hid bun made. 4th. That the roof of the building had been repaired, arid the kitchen chimney raised above the roof, sth. 7 hey recommend that a dram from the kitchen be made of tiles, a distance of 120ft.—The report was adopted. Visiting Committee's No. 2 report, recommending payment of accounts for salaries and supplies for ■ the past month, amounting to £B4 -8s 9d, was read and accepted. . ••• It wa# explained that an item of nearly £2O for mattiassea and bed-rests .was included, -
The Treasurer's. report, showing a credit balance of £9l 15s, was read and received.. The Surgeon's report, as follows, was read and received ;—Number of patients in hospital Ist September, 2 ; since admitted, 5 ; discharged, 1 ; remaining in the institution 30th September, 6; and' six out door, patients were treated.
