Present—Messrs B, Naylor (President), J. U. Cambridge (Vice-President), A ttfield, Holt,’ Macginma, Sims, "J. E. Stevens (Treasurer), and Geo. Pache (Secretary), The minutes of previous meetings, held on the 6th and 7th inst., were read and confirmed. Correspondence,.inward and outward, in connection with the late election of Resident Surgeon, was received. Visiting Committee reported they had visited the Institutionseveral times during the month, and found everything working satisfactorily.'. They recommended that an open drain be constructed from the building to the river bank, to carry off all glops and other accumulations. Resolved--That a Subcommittee, con« siating of the Vice President, Treasurer, and Mr Sims, bo appointed to report on the question to next meeting on the question of drainage. ... ... . ; . .. The Secretary was instructed to ascertain the price of open drain tiles j also Gin. drain pipes. The Visiting Committee’s No. 2 report, recommending payment of accounts for salaries and supplies for the past month, amounting to L 63 16a 2d was read and received. Treasurers report, showing. a„ .credit-, balance of LIOO 5s 6d, was read and rea ceived. Surgeon’s report was read and received. The repoit recommended that as patient Donald Murdoch, suffering from chronic rheumatism, is a more fit subject for the Benevolent Institution than for the local hospital, an effort should, be made to have him sent there' when the weather gets warmer. ■ . ■ •, The Secretary was instructed to write Mr Pyke re patient Donald Murdoch. Mr James Holt was elected member of the Visiting Committee vice Mr Sims retiring, A iong discussion took place relative to the water supply, but nothing definite was ' arrived at. The sub-Committee appointed to deal with this matter being instructed to , decide on the new course of the race. Tho meeting then dissolved. I
