PUBLIC TRUST OFFICE OF NEW ZEALAND. ANY person may appoint the. Public Trustee executor and trustee under bis will or codicil. Any present fcnis*e& may/ transfer the management of the oust property to the Public Trustee,'who will there'll.on hold such property upon the original trusts attaching thereto. Any person, company, association, nr public body within or without the colony, may place any property belonging to them in charge of the Public Trustee upon trust for such uses as may be defined in the deed creating the trust. Any building, land, or friendly society may, by Its rules, provide that property belonging to it, may lie placed in the Public Trust Office, for such trusts and uses and with such powers as may be defined in or by the said rules The advantages offered are:— Ist. State Guarantee against peculation, fraud, or dishonesty. 2nd. All proposed investments are considered by a board, consisting of the Honorable Colonial Treasurer, the Attorney General, the Comptroller and Auditor Generel, the Government Insurance Commissioner, and the Public Trustee. Careful consideration of all securities offered is therefore ensured. 3rd. The Public Trustee, in his cor potato capacity, never dies, never leaves the country, and never becmues incapacitated, thus avoid! g the many inconveniences resulting from frequent fresh appointments of 'trustees, necessitated by death, change of abode, or mental or bodily infirmity. 4th. Punctually and promtitude in the remittance of periodical payment! to beneficiaries under trust or will tv, anv part of the colony or elsewhere at which itmaybedesir d that payments should be made. stli. The effective check which is called into operation before any moneys can bo drawn ft om the Public Trustee’s account. Gill. Reasonable charges: On estates such as are now being considered the Public Trustee is authorised to charge ly pel cent, on all receipts, and 1 i per cent on disbursements, and 5s per cent, on all moneys invested No charge is made for obtaining probate, nor for passing stamp and property tax returns, nor t-u correspondence bow ever voluminous. Thus the saving to estates placed in this office is consider able. R.
