Sydney, July 28th. During a terrifie gate a bush tire was ignited at Gerringmg, near the smith coast of this colony, ami spread rapidly. Six iinme*iea'ls were total y destroyed, and the villages in the ne ghnourhoo I of the bush were only saved with i*reat difficulty. July 30'h. A scullini match took place on the Paranatta River on Saturday between bid ward Trickett and B;aeh, aud resulted in a vicorv f°r the former. The Government are consi : ering the question of the establishment of a system or federal quarantine, in favour of which resolutions were pissed at a recent intercolonial conference. The owners of t'le immigrant ship Allanshaw, which arrived frorn L mdon on May 2nd, have been fined LSOO for breaches of the immigration reflations, and the owner- of the ship El lor a, which arrived on June 11th witli immigrants from Plymouth, have be-n sentenced to pay a penalty of L 250 for a simiar offence.
