To examine ' all documents in the possession of the i Council relaiing to the tenders an-1 t contracts. 2nd. To examine the En- 1 gineer and all documents in his pos- ■ session which might throw light on the \ matter. 3rd. That Donald Hntton ] and Patrick Thomis, if they desire, •" or any other person who m y be ] able to enlighten the Council > e also i examined, and should the enquiry go , to show that Donald Hutton was not the real tenderer for Contract Vo. 96 ' but a dummy, or that Patrick Thomas ' is not the real tenderer for Contract No 103, but a dummy ; the Council I then proceed Donald Hutton and Patrick Thomas. 2nd. With the re*l tenderer, who , ever he may be. 3rd With the contracts iu such manner as they (the Council) may deem fit. ' 8. Cr. Colclough to move—That Gold Duty as a source of County tie- > venue be abolished, and the Government be memorialized to provide funds for County works from other sources, the knowledge of its being such County Kevenue having hitherto prevented the County Councils from condemning the tax as an unjust burden on industry, 9. Cr. Colclough to move—That the Council give an assurance by resolution that it is not intended to remove the punt at Lowburn, as its usefulness will thereby le increased, a public school being in contemplation thereat, and depending upon a guarantee of Lowburn and Qnaitz Reef Point.
