Correspondence.

We do not hold ourselves responsible for the oplnlom expressed by our ourresponuents. TO THE EDITOR, r Sir,—l observe in the last issue of tin i Cromwell Anjua a npoit of a niuamg, held I ar, uruuiweil, *or the purpo-e of liea> mg Mi Henry Campbell deliver an addio-s on r County matters generally, and die par iou ; Jar phase of the Chairmanship question in I particular. Apparently this was the object for which the meeting was called ; but the ' address as reported o uaista of nouiing (note , nor less than a spiteful ami d istantly attack on Mr Fyke w tliout rhyme or reason It ■ is not my intention to contradict Mr Cami> ■ bell’s statements as to Mr Fyke’s share of blame in connection with the present state of County affairs ; any one conversant «m, the circumstances will understand their utter absuidity ; and how any presumably reapecably paper could publish such a tissue of )>aliler dash, passes my comprehension. At a later period of the evening iMr Camp bell made some remarks about keas. and I would recommend him to stick to that line, for, he is evidently far more at home in it tin n in Coaniy matters. Indeed, I am puzzled to know what Mr Campbell has to do with County affairs in this County (beyond being a ratepavei). I have not heard that he intends contesting one of the impending elections. Whac means then this flood of eloquence ? Veritas.
