DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL.
The usual monthly meeting of the Committee of Management was held on Monday ;eyeping last. Presents-. Messrs B. Nay Tor '(President), 3, U. i Cambridge (Vice-President),,,’Holt, Sims. Crawford, J. E. Stevens (Treasurer), and Geo. Fache (Secretary). The minutes of previous meeting were read and ponfirmed.' The Visiting Committee reported they had visited the Hospiial several times during the month, and that everything was working smoothly and giving satisf .ction, and recommended some few necessary repairs. The report was received, and the Committee were instructed to have the recommended repairs attended to. Report No. 2., recommending payment of accounts for salaries and supplies for the past month, amounting to £63 10s 10J, was received. The Treasure's report, showing a debit balance of £l2O odd, was read and received. The Treasnrerreferre 1 to the large amount of accumulated debts due by paying patients, and said some steps should he taken to recover them. After discussion.jit was resolved—That the Secretary prepare and lay on the table at next meeting a statement of all monies owing by patients since Ist January, 1882. The Surgeon’s report showing .hat seven patients rem Joed in Hospital on the Ist of the current month, Mr Jas. Holt was elected member of the Visiting Committee vice Mr Jetl'ery retiring. Mr Holt sold he had had placed in his hands t6 odd, collected specially for the purchase of a bath chair for the institution, and asked if the Committee would pay the balance of the sum' asked for the chair and purchase it. Ho said the price ask. d for was £l2. In reply-he said the chair was at Lawrence. Resolved—That,Dr Wardale be askel to place himself in 'communication with Dr Withers of Lawrence with the ,7 tew of ascertaining if the chair is a good an J servicable one, and if bis repot t is favourable, that it be purchased. Mr Sims said that Mr Jas. Muir had donated a bag of potatoes and a hag of turnips to tho lnatitution. -Ordered that same he acknowledge' l . After discussion, it was decided that as there was to he a ball at Alexandra on May the 24th and a Pigeon Shooting Match, to be followed by the customary dinner at Clyde ou the same dav, to postpone the proposed haziar till Wednesday, June tin- 20 hj, and that the Secretary place himself in communication with all the ladies in the district soliciting their support. The Secretary was instructed to write the leading residents in the outlying districts and ask them to form in their midst local committees for the collection of subscriptions to the hospital. The meeting then closed.
