BLACKS.
The concert at Blacks, lately advertised in your paper, came off on Monday night, 26 hj hist. The night was very hue, hut 1 am sorry to say there was not a very large attendance, partly owing no doubt to the fact that there was no dance after the performance. The various songs, readings, recitations, etc., were well rendered, and showed great care in their selection. It would he invidious to criticise one whore all I the performers did their best. The crack between Mrs Scandal and Mrs Envy was very good, the only fault that I could find with it that it was too short. The gct-up of the laaios was very good, so good, indeed, that John, the waiter, lost his head and roared with the audience. What the proceeds will he I cannot say, but one of the ladies told me that they thought it would amount to £5 or £6. Trusting soon to see another of the same sort, I am, etc , Pater familias.
