Ihere were seven nominations for the Licemiug Committee. The election took place on the 24th, as advertised. A. great deal more interest was taken in the affair than on previous occasions. Ido not meant anything approaching excitement. The following is the result of the poll:—Turner, 38; OTtegnn, 32 ; Melvin,,32; M'Lean, 30 ; (Jlunie. 30 ; Excell, 16 ; Prescott, 14. Turner, O’Regan, and M'Lean, served on the proceeding Committee.
