PASTORAL LANDS SALE.
The first sale of the leases of these lands took place on Tuesday last, the 20th inst., •it Roxburgh, and comprised the suldi viaious of Runs 3,19 and 425 a (Cargill and Anderson’s), lying lietweeo Bald Hill Flat and Roxburgh, in all 42,535 acres. The prices realised were in all cases satisfactory, the upset in most cases being exceeded. Below we give a detailed account of the sale, from which it ni l be seen that the hulk of the area fell again into the hands of the original holders, they securing 39,423 acres at £764 • or annum, an average rental of nearly 5d per acre. .M rßutler was the next largest purchaser, he securing 2071 acres for £55 per annum, a trifle over Git per acre. Mr Qaayle got a section between the road and the Twelve Mi e Beach, of 1814 acres, for which he paid £l2 per annum, or nearly 16d per acre. Mr M'Lacblan secuied’3l3J cres near his present holding, at £9 pm annum, nearly 7d per acre, and Mr John Ingles had knocked down to him the area at the back of the Bettger Commonage, of 4G2J acres, at £ll per annum, or nearly Cd per acre.
