The mem’ ers of the association formed by the claimants of lands in Fiji who were notsa isfied with the decision of the Lands Commi-aion as finally interpreted by the Gove-nor-in-Conncd, asked Her Majesty’s Secret ry of State for the Colonies that a competent tribunal, nnoo elected with the Government of ihe Colony, might he appoints Ito deal with tln-ir claims. The reply, which has been published, is a direct refusal to listen, and the grounds on which the refusal is based are stated to he the reports of the late and p-esenb Governors of Fiji and the observations of Mr Victor Williamson.
