Harkaway is by Diomedes, by Hesperus, bom Diomedia, by Weatherbuilt out of Taurania by Tarus. Dam—Dinah, or.t of Leah, by Skeleton, and Skeleton by Skeleton, dam Steeltrap imported to Nelson in ISSD. For full particulars see stud book. Harkaway is a beautiful bay and stands 16 hands and 3 inches in height. Ha is one of the strongest horses that ever travelled the districts, and is suitable for getting any class of horse required in the Province—either cross country or strong upstanding roadsters with plenty size and hone. Harkaway is half-brother to the famous horses Totara, Parawhenua, and Toi Toi, all being good performers in the province. Terms : £1 10s, payable on February 1, IBS 3, and £1 10s payable if mare proved to be in foal. A -well-grassed paddock provided for mares from a distance, at the farm of the undersigned. Youko Lochnivar is a beautiful dark bay, rising 6 years old, standing 17 hands high, bred by H. Nichols, Esq., of Tasmania. His sire, Sir Walter Scott, imporwaa got by the Duke of Hamilton’s champion horse, the original Sir Walter Scott. Dam Blossom, g dam Charlotte, by Lincoln Hero, imported ; g.g. dam Grey Charlotte, the great prize-taker in Tasmania, got by Grey Champion, imported ; dam Black ted from Scotland by Doders and Hartwell, Champion, mare by Diamond, imported. Young Lochnivar gained the following prizes as a two year old—First at Hobart Town, first at Melton Mowbray, and first at Richmond. Young Lochnivar has proved himself a sure foal getter.
