Mcfdi vniss to move—That the Oouncil proceed to the consideration of the Depasturing Vgulaiions as presented for that purpose’hy the Chairman, pursuant to resolution of last meeting and for the consent of the Council thereto. Copy of proposed regulations being'll" follows : I. — Repeal. All regulations heretofore existing are hereby repealed. 2. lnterpretation. lnterpretation. Tn these Regulations the words '* gieat cattle” shall he construed to mean and ino ude horned cattle, horses, mules and asses, male and female, and the offspring rhereof above six months of age ; and the words “ small cattle” shall 1 e construed to mean sheep, male and female, m<l he weaned offspring there* f; ami the word “ Distiici” she I mean one of the Depasturing Districts desciibed in the First Schedule Inn to, and every other district -which mav hereafter 1m proclaimed within the Comity of Vincent 3. —Application to he made. De-sons desirous of obtaining a depasturing license mnstlodge with the Clerk of -he County Council an application in writing in the form contained in the Second Schedule hereto j and deposit therewith the assessment and legist ration fees payable under these "Regulations, If such application is r. fused the. assessment and registration fees shall be repaid to the applicant, but not otherwise. 4. —Application how dealt with Tf the application shall be to depasture not more than five head of great ‘I--, or of other cattle for which jn pasturing license has previously no n granted to the applicant, the Clerk - ; the County Council may, with the consent and approval of the Chaiiman, forthwith issue a depasturing license to the applicant j but if such application shall ho for depasturing any larger nnmh. r of great cattle than aforesaid, or for flop--taring small cattle, the Clerk shall submit th<* same to the County Council at the next Ord.nary Meeting thereof, and the County Council shall determine whether such application shall be granted or refused. 5. - A ssessment Fees. And when six months o more of the annual period shall have expired, on'y one ha f of the above fees shall be charged. o. —Duration and form of License. Depastur.ng licenses gianted under these Regulation* shall be signed by the Chairman of the County Council, and shall remain in force on v un il the 31st day of March next f llow.ng the date thereof; and such Licenses shall be in the form contained in the Th i d Schedule thereto. 7.— Registration. All cattle depastured in a district under rhese. Regulations must be branded, and the brands and a description of the cattle must he registered wi hj the Clerk of the County Council. The fee for every such registration shall he one shilling. 8 - Register to he kept. The ( lerk of the County Council shall ke-p a register of brands, and a list of depasturing licenses with the date, of issue, the names - f the licensees, and the quantity and description of stock widen each person is authorised to depasture, and such register shall be kept in the Council offices, and ma be inspected at anv time by tb-pnbli . 9. Brands previously registered. If the brand described in anv ai pli-ca-ion has previously been registered by any oth r pm son, the applicant shall amend his application by inserting therein some other brand no, previously registered. Any owner or person claiming any pigs, gnats, or unregistered cattle at any muster or inspection of such cattle shall i ay the sum of ten shillings per head as a fixed chargefor the cost and charges incident to the colleciing and reco- ery of the same respee ivelv. 14. Penalty tor illegally depasturing. Any person depasturing cattle in or upon a District without a*license *au thorizing him so to do, and any person depasturing thereon a greater number of cattle than he is entitled to depasture by virtu re of such I’cence; or more than by these Regulations he is entitled to depast re by virtue of a miner's right, I usiness license, or of a mining, mineral, or agri nhnra' lease shall, upon conviction, be liah'e to pay any penalty not exceeding ten p'-um’s for the first offence, and twenty pounds for any second or subsequent offence.
