Amongst the items on the Parliamentary estimates which are of special local interest are the following, the whole of which passed without amendment : Otago Central Railway, £50,000; bridge owr Clutha at Alexandra (grant-in-aid), £SOOO ; bridges over the Clutha at Beaumont and Roxburgh (grantsin-aid of re-erectinn), £6OOO ; road to Wakaia Bush from Clutha, £2OOO In all, £44,309 is voted for roads to open np lands before sale in Otago, including £lofo in Lauder block, £ISOO Upper Clntha blocks; £IOOO Pembroke to Matnkituki ; and £26,042 for roads and bridges in Otago, including those items above mentioned. the votes immediately interesting the stan electorate Mr Vincent Pyke is dtserv-’' ing more than the ordinary measure of thanks, and we shall hope same will bo accorded him.
