INTERCOLONIAL.
A large property in the Darlington district has been sold for £200,000. This is the largest sale of freehold land effected in the colony. The French warship Distress arrived at Sydney on the 11th. Bhe recently visited the New Hebrides group to punish the Natives for the murder of certain French traders at Espirito Santo Island. One of the orincipal native villages was bombarded for two hours, and completely destroyed. The settling over the late Australian Jockey Ciub’s Spring Meeting took place at Sydney on the 11th inst. The total amount of the stakes was L 6033. Sting, the winner of the Craven Plate and the Randwick Plate was sold at auction at Sydney on the 11th inst. for 1600 guineas.
