[Dunedin. Thursday. The next annual meeting of the N. Z. RiAssociation probably will be held at Musselburgh. A meeting of Colonial Bank shareholders, Rid yesterday, resolved to pay a dividend of seven per cent. The report and balance sheet was adopted, A meeting of the Dunedin Jockey Club was held yesterday, when all officers were re-elected, and the Committee authorised to add £1,500 to programmes of Spring and Autumn meetings. The first meeting of theßefrigerat'ngC unjiany was held yesterday, when it was shown that the expenditure and income for the year was about balanced. Application of T. G. Betts to purchase under agricultural lease, Mid Wakatipu, was approved. There is encouraging news from Reefton Reefs. Five bags of stone from Keep-it-Dark were put through the mill on Tuesday and gave the result of four hundred ounces. Shares have advanced from 71 to 95 shillings, and shares in adjoining claims are rising. The barque Australand has gone ashore at New Plymouth, but all hands are safe. The Frisco mail will be in town to-night. The Land and Property Tax Valuation for Dunedin for last year was close on to £4,000,000. Cholera is said to be very prevalent in Batavia A man named Ayleward jumped into the rover at Wanganui yesterday and was drowned. At the inquest on the body of Captain Johnson, who shot himself at Raglan, a verdict of temporary insanity was returned. In the cricket match against Northumberland, the Australians scored 193, and their opponents only 63 and 35.
